• When you sign in anonymously, we store a unique anonymous identifier.
• When you create an email account, we store your email address and an encrypted password.

Usage Data

• Collection progress, badges, and activity history within the app.
• Scavenger hunt and trivia game participation.
• App usage analytics via Firebase Analytics (e.g., screens visited, features used).

Photos

• Photos you upload for your nature collection, wildlife identifications, and scavenger hunt submissions.
• Photos are stored securely in Firebase Cloud Storage and are only accessible to you (or to other participants in a shared scavenger hunt).

Location Data

• With your permission, we access your device location to show you relevant regional content and nearby nature entries.
• Location data is processed on-device and is not stored on our servers.

Crash Reports

• We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash logs and diagnostic data to help us fix bugs and improve app stability.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and personalize the App's features (regional guides, collection tracking, games).
• To verify photos for scavenger hunts and wildlife identifications.
• To track your progress, badges, and activity within the App.
• To analyze usage patterns and improve the App experience.
• To diagnose and fix technical issues via crash reports.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure via Firebase. We use Firebase security rules to ensure that your personal data (collections, progress, photos) is only accessible to you. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

The App uses the following third-party services that may collect data according to their own privacy policies:

5. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

• Withdraw consent for location access at any time through your device settings.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, your personal data will be deleted within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
