Delete Your Account

You can request that your So You're Going To (SYGT) account and all associated personal data be permanently deleted. Please follow the steps below.
How to Request Account Deletion
- Send an email to christopherBossDev@gmail.com
- Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
- In the body, include the email address associated with your SYGT account (or your user ID if you used anonymous sign-in)
- We will verify your identity and process your request within 30 days
What Data Is Deleted
When your account deletion is processed, the following data is permanently deleted:
- Account credentials — your Firebase Authentication account (email, password, or anonymous ID)
- User profile — display name and account settings
- Nature collection — all entries you've marked as found and associated notes
- Photos — all photos you've uploaded (collection photos, wildlife identifications, scavenger hunt submissions)
- Progress and badges — region progress, earned badges, and activity scores
- Activity history — your activity log and engagement records
- Identification records — wildlife and plant identification history
- Scavenger hunt data — your scavenger hunt history and participation records
- Social connections — friend connections and friend requests
What Data Is Retained
The following data may be retained after account deletion:
- Aggregated analytics — anonymized, aggregated usage data collected via Firebase Analytics that is not linked to your identity
- Crash reports — anonymized crash logs collected via Firebase Crashlytics, which are no longer associated with your account after deletion
Retention Period
Your account and all personal data listed above will be permanently deleted within 30 days of your verified deletion request. Anonymized analytics and crash data are retained indefinitely to help us improve the app.
